Known for her show-stopping patisserie, Executive Pastry Chef Cherish Finden has created an extra special Lunar New Year Afternoon Tea, in partnership with Diptyque, inspired by the luxury brand’s Orange Tree & Orange Blossom scent. Seasonal patisserie such as a mandarin and white chocolate mousse with orange marmalade is packed with citrus flavours whilst standout Chinese savoury choices include crispy wonton with aromatic duck and tofu, a lobster bun and Kaya toast. Priced at £78pp.

Patisserie Valerie’s decadent new Lunar New Year Cake (£46.95) has been lovingly handmade to make celebrations extra special. Available for nationwide delivery and serving 14, the decadent cake features layers of golden sponge filled with raspberry jam and vanilla cream and is finished with red Swiss meringue buttercream, delicate golden sugar pearls and shiny gold chocolate coins to symbolise good fortune and prosperity.

Luxury French tea brand Mariage Frères has added the twelfth and final addition to its Thé Des Signes® Chinese zodiac collection: Lapin. The Rabbit symbolises kindness, gentleness and optimism, and the new tea blend encompasses this with gourmet notes of honeydew melon and starfruit enlivened with a dash of fresh mint and white currant. Tibetan goji berries – the signature ingredient of the Thé Des Signes® range – add an energising fruity note to the composition that’s rich in antioxidants. Drawing inspiration from the layered pagoda towers that seen throughout historic East Asia, the tea (100g) is presented in a meadow green tin and retails for £26.

Chinese New Year Feasting – Straits Kitchen, Pan Pacific London
Enjoy a four-course sharing dinner at Straits Kitchen on 21st January for £138pp, featuring a welcome ‘Jade Rabbit’ cocktail or mocktail alongside dishes of braised Abalone with shiitake mushrooms, steamed seabass with XO sauce; native lobster stir-fried longevity noodles and XO scallops fried rice.
