What To Do In London: New Jazz & Negroni Nights at the Great Northern Hotel
15 Jun 2022
A stylish hotspot in the heart of London’s King’s Cross, luxury Grade II listed Great Northern Hotel is bringing back the glitz and glamour of the golden age of jazz with its Jazz & Negroni Nights – with the next event in this new series confirmed for the 28th June. Taking place from 6.30pm onwards, the buzzy GNH Bar and Terrace will offer vibrant live music and a delicious new signature Negroni menu.
At the decadently designed art deco bar, visitors can enjoy music from the renowned Rocca Brother’s Vocal Trio, who are guaranteed to bring an injection of rhythm and energy to the capital with brothers Joel and Ben on saxophone and keyboard accompanied by singer Patricia Elizabeth. The trio’s dynamic sets will include both jazz classics and hits from music legends; expect crowd-pleasing favourites such as ‘Fly Me To The Moon’ by Frank Sinatra , ‘Isn’t She Lovely’ by Stevie Wonder and ‘Back To Black’ by Amy Winehouse.
Against the backdrop of silky-smooth vocals and toe-tapping jazz, guests can dance the night away whilst indulging in innovative negroni cocktails from Bar Manager Diogo Felico. Carefully crafted using quality ingredients, choose from the ‘Barrel Aged (in-house) Negroni’, made with Hayman’s Dry Gin, Antica Formula, Campari, orange bitters (£15); the smoky ‘Mezcal Negroni’ featuring Montelobos Mezcal, Antica Formula, Campari with a lime twist (£12); and a ‘Sloegroni’ with Hayman’s Sloe Gin, Marolo Vino Chinato and Campari, served with dried dragon fruit and a lemon twist (£12).
Those who prefer a mocktail can opt for the ‘Nogroni’, featuring Lyre’s Aperitif Rosso, Lyre’s Italian Orange and Seedlip Grove 42, garnished with a grapefruit twist (£10). If negronis aren’t to taste, GNH Bar also offers a vast gin and tonic, whisky and premium spirits menu as well as craft beers and a refined wine and champagne list.
Jazz lovers looking to add on a staycation can book into one of the Great Northern Hotel’s luxurious en-suite bedrooms, beautifully designed to celebrate the architecture and heritage of the building whilst catering to the needs of the modern traveller.
