Introducing Chop Chop By Four Seasons At The Hippodrome

One of London’s most renowned Chinese restaurant groups, Four Seasons, has opened at London’s landmark casino, The Hippodrome, on Leicester Square. Chop Chop at The Hippodrome is the capital’s latest casual Chinese hotspot for divine duck and delicious Cantonese dishes as well as late night dining.
Whilst modern in décor and approach, the food at Chop Chop is as authentic as it gets. Four Seasons is renowned for serving some of the best Cantonese food in the country and the same care and attention has gone into the menu at The Hippodrome as its sister restaurants expanding around the world.
Located hidden away on the lower ground floor, the informal subterranean eatery is open from 6pm until 4am, making it ideal for those looking for anything from a quick after-work supper through to post-theatre/cinema dining or a late-night / early morning Chinese fix.
A DESTINATION FOR ROAST DUCK
The star of the menu is Four Seasons’ renowned Hong Kong style roast duck, named by The Financial Times as ‘the best in the world’. Made to a secret recipe, the roast duck is thoroughly dried before it is marinated with a special mix of spices and herbs. The firing itself, is done in a specially built roasting furnace, which distribute the heat evenly around the duck’s body, resulting in its golden crispy outer skin.
SIGNATURE DISHES, DIM-SUM, DESSERTS & DRINKS
An array of starters includes crispy duck pancakes, soups such as Hot & Sour and Pork & Prawn Wonton and prawn, pork and vegan dim sum dumplings and buns.
Mains are a mix and match affair with options starting from just £13 to include protein plus rice. As well as the duck, there’s Chop Chop’s signature dishes of Char Sui BBQ Pork, Roast Crispy Pork Belly, Black Pepper Lobster with Asparagus, Soya Chicken and a vegan Braised Aubergine.
Noodles run the gamut from crispy egg and soft egg through to ho fun, vermicelli and udon and come on the side, in soups and as a main. Sides feature sharing plates of sweet and sour pork and Steamed Garlic Tiger Prawns as well as vegetables such as Morning Glory and Choi Sum whilst vegans are well catered for with a wide range of options from Sweet & Sour Tofu, Shiitake Mushroom & Water Chestnut Dumplings and a large selection of Chinese vegetables.
Finish with a Chop Chop Ice Cream Stick; choose from White Rabbit, Brown Sugar Tapioca Balls, Pandan & Coconut Jelly or Taro.
The drinks list features a concise selection of wines, cider and brews including Tsingtao Chinese beer and teas such as Jasmine, Chinese Oolong and Chrysanthemum.
A NOD TO HONG KONG
The brand-new restaurant has been designed by Rachel O’Toole and takes influences from 1960’s Hong Kong with formica-topped tables, stools, intimate booths and high counter seating. Featuring two koi fish, the logo for Chop Chop by Four Seasons at The Hippodrome represents the union of the two brands, whilst the name itself has more than one meaning; a fast and efficient dining experience, chopped signature dishes from Four seasons, and chopsticks for eating the Chinese way. A neon dragon adorns the walls representing power and strength whilst paying homage to the iconic Waterfall Legend.
