Banish the seasonal blues with the launch of the indulgent Winter Afternoon Tea in the Wellington Lounge at the InterContinental London Park Lane. Located at the address, which was once the childhood home of Queen Elizabeth II, step in from the cold for a quintessentially British afternoon tea experience fit for royalty.
With a seasonal twist, expect a decadent selection of handmade scones, cakes and savoury delights which focus on the best of British produce, alongside an extensive list of over 20 teas to sip away the afternoon.
Taking place in the bright and cosy surrounds of the lounge and overlooking Buckingham Palace Gardens, cleanse your palate with an amuse-bouche of Roasted honey and parsnip cappuccino with beetroot and crème fraiche, before tucking in a selection of savouries from Venison carpaccio and shaved truffle on sourdough crostini, and Smoked winter trout with pickled red onion and caper cream cheese to South coast clams and sun-dried tomato rillette.
A fully vegetarian afternoon is also available with plant-based options of Wild mushroom and chickpea scotch egg and Cured rainbow carrot with pickled red onion and caper cream cheese.
Decadent treats include freshly baked scones with a selection of preserves and cakes such as a Pistachio financier with Ivoire whipped ganache, Claire Fontaine layered cake and the Pineapple and coconut delice with coconut crémeux.
Tea connoisseurs can choose from an extensive list of premium teas from the East India Company, with over 20 blends and infusions from across the globe, including the No. 1 Park Lane bespoke blend. Or for a boozy affair, opt for a tipple from a curated list of wines and cocktails, along with fizz from top Champagne houses including Ruinart, Veuve Clicquot and Dom Pérignon.
