Located on Belgravia’s Ebury Street, Ganymede offers exceptional British food in a relaxed bar and dining room. Celebrating its first anniversary, and named after the largest moon of Jupiter, Ganymede is the second pub from Oliver Marlowe and Hubert Beatson-Hird, who brought The Hunter’s Moon to South Kensington to rave reviews.
An elegant gastropub in the truest sense, Ganymede’s recently appointed Head Chef Charlie Miller works alongside Owner Chef Director Oliver Marlowe to create a daily-changing menu filled with beautifully plated yet unpretentious dishes that use only impeccably sourced seasonal ingredients. From lunch through to dinner, bar snacks to weekend brunch and Sunday roasts through to post-work sips, Ganymede delights on all occasions.
Across the daily á la carte menu and set lunch menu, where guests can bag two courses for £23.50 and three for £29.50 on Monday-Friday lunchtimes, expect a selection of showstopping starters. Whilst dishes will change daily dependant on the best produce available, expect the likes of crab and basil ravioli with mussel velouté and chives; aged beef and smoked eel tartare with creamed horseradish and sourdough crostini; and pumpkin soup served with parmesan velouté and a caramelised onion brioche roll.
Mains might include roast Jerusalem artichokes with gnocchi, pickled artichokes, Parmesan and truffle; or roast lamb saddle with crispy olive oil crushed potatoes, niçoise dressing, green beans and rosemary. Vanilla crème brûlèe and bitter chocolate dulche de leche tart with a chocolate chip honeycomb parfait provide the perfect sweet finish.
Handcrafted bar bites provide the perfect accompaniment to a drink or two – think chunky homemade scotch eggs and flaky sausage rolls; fresh oysters; crispy croquettes and grilled sardines on toast with chimichurri.
No Sunday would be complete without a roast and Ganymede is amongst the best with choices of – treacle cured sirloin of beef, suckling pork belly or corn-fed chicken served with all the trimmings including Yorkshire puddings, fluffy roast potatoes and seasonal vegetables.
A well thought out drinks selection features an interesting choice of wines and champagnes, with a vintage and region to suit every taste. Top shelf spirits, many sourced locally, sit alongside a selection of craft beers and ales whilst a cocktail list features all the classics. Signature serves include Ganymede’s Chilli & Cucumber Margarita, made with Aqua Riva Tequila, Jalapeno syrup and Tajon and the Caruso Spritz, a mix of Morgenster “Caruso” Sangiovese Rosé, soda and topped with fresh fruit.
SUPPLIER SUPPER CLUBS
A monthly Supplier Supper Club provides the perfect opportunity for a deep dive drinking and dining experience with some of the restaurant’s impeccably sourced suppliers. Each event includes a three- course meal paired with three drinks for just £50 per person. Previous producer evenings have been hosted with Coates & Seely English sparkling wine, Tidal Rum, and organic cider Wignac.
The interiors at Ganymede are warm and modern, featuring sleek tiling and panelled walls, offset by exposed brick and timber wood flooring and flourishes of foliage that adorn the walls, ceilings, and tables. A rich colour palette of dark greens and navy blue is combined with accents of gold, antique brass and marble to create a space that exudes style and charm. No detail has been overlooked, right down to the bathroom ceilings that feature an impressive black and white mural, depicting Ganymede being abducted by Zeus according to Greek mythology.
A relaxed bar area at the front provides the perfect spot for an afterwork drink or weekend tipple, whether you’re pulling up a seat by the window to watch the world go by or taking a perch at the bar. For a more formal dining experience, head to the back of Ganymede to find a smart and spacious dining room complete with forest green leather banquettes, floor-to-ceiling mirrors and pendant lighting. Two feature wine display cabinets bespoke artwork and plants aplenty complete the space.
