Christmas Markets and Wreath-Making at The Spread Eagle
Celebrating its first Christmas since reopening, Young’s flagship pub with be spreading the Christmas cheer with a series of festive events throughout December. Kicking things off will be two Christmas markets on 3rd and 8th December, offering a bustling array of unique stocking fillers and delicious Christmas snacks, along with plenty of mulled wine. For those wanting to get creative, the charming local will also be hosting wreath making classes in partnership with local florist, Bramble and Willow. Priced at £70 per person, get green fingered and decorate your own wreath, ready to shine bright on your door this festive season.
‘Man vs. Santa’ Mince Pie Eating Competition at the Hand in Hand
Who ate all the pies? It’s time to find out at the Hand in Hand for its inaugural mince pie eating competition on 14th December. Aptly titled Man vs. Santa, contestants will have just over three minutes to gobble down as many of the festive treats as possible, spurred on by 80’s classic ‘Eye of the Tiger’, with the winner gaining ultimate pride and a trophy for their pie-eating skills. Entry includes a donation to charity, a free Santa hat and mince pies galore.
Art Sippers X Grand Junction Arms
Go from zero to Picasso with the festive edition of the Art Sippers at The Grand Junction Arms. For one night only on 6th December, follow a step-by-step tutorial with a paint brush in one hand and festive tipple in the other to create your masterpiece, all guided by the Art Sipper team. Expect fun, prizes and Christmas-cracker jokes galore for just £39 per person, including a glass of mulled wine and a mince pie.
Festive Rooftop Brunch at Smiths of Smithfield
Just like Santa himself, take to the roof for a festive brunch at Farringdon favourite, Smiths of Smithfield, running every Saturday in December from 12pm-8pm. Taking place on the pub’s stunning covered terrace with breath-taking views of London, switch the turkey for a lip-smacking, three-course feast of crowd-pleasing dishes from £60 per person, including a welcome drink and 120 minutes of free-flowing prosecco, mimosas or Bloody Marys.

Wreath Making at The White Hart
Get creative at local Bristol pub, The White Hart, for a festive wreath making session on 30th November from 11am. Under the watchful eye of a local florist, guests will have the chance to make their own festive wreath for just £30 per person, including coffee, tea and pastries to enjoy. There is also a host of festive dishes for those wanting to stay for lunch after.
Christmas Quiz and Carols at The Crown & Anchor
It’s time to get quizzical at the Crown & Anchor for its Big Fat Quiz of the Year, taking place on 8th December from 7pm. Looking back over the events of 2022, test your knowledge on our recent history and soak up the lively atmosphere with roaring fires and festive treats. Priced at just £2 per person to enter, with funds going to the Apuldram Centre charity, make sure to book your table and get your witty team names ready. Meanwhile, for a Christmas sing-along, join the fun on 11th December down at the docks for carol singing and mulled wine.
