Celebrating its first Christmas since reopening, Young’s flagship pub with be spreading the Christmas cheer with a series of festive events throughout December. Kicking things off will be two Christmas markets on 3rd and 8th December, offering a bustling array of unique stocking fillers and delicious Christmas snacks, along with plenty of mulled wine. For those wanting to get creative, the charming local will also be hosting wreath making classes in partnership with local florist, Bramble and Willow. Priced at £70 per person, get green fingered and decorate your own wreath, ready to shine bright on your door this festive season.
‘Man vs. Santa’ Mince Pie Eating Competition at the Hand in Hand

Who ate all the pies? It’s time to find out at the Hand in Hand for its inaugural mince pie eating competition on 14th December. Aptly titled Man vs. Santa, contestants will have just over three minutes to gobble down as many of the festive treats as possible, spurred on by 80’s classic ‘Eye of the Tiger’, with the winner gaining ultimate pride and a trophy for their pie-eating skills. Entry includes a donation to charity, a free Santa hat and mince pies galore.
