Coronation Afternoon Tea at the InterContinental London Park Lane
05 Apr 2023
Celebrate King Charles III’s coronation with an afternoon tea fit for royalty at the luxurious Wellington Lounge at the InterContinental London Park Lane. Located at the address which was once the childhood home of Queen Elizabeth II, enjoy an exclusive afternoon tea experience inspired by our new sovereign, running from Wednesday 3rd – Friday 14th May.
Located in the elegant surrounds of the hotel’s lounge, expect a stunning selection of quintessentially British delights from handmade scones and cakes to savoury bites, all based on the King’s favourite dishes.
Start off the celebrations with a selection of delicate finger sandwiches including Slow roasted peasant with forest truffle and balsamic pearls, Earl grey tea smoked duck with heritage beetroot and cherry jam, and Hen’s egg coronation with apricot and cress salad, followed by freshly baked scones. Cakes and pastries pay homage to the King’s favourite tipples with the likes of Martini cheesecake, a Gordon’s dry gin and lime delice, and a Darjeeling tea and honey opera.
Tea connoisseurs can choose from an extensive list of premium teas from the East India Company, with over 20 blends and infusions from across the globe, including the No. 1 Park Lane bespoke blend. Or for a bubbly affair, opt for some fizz from top Champagne houses including Ruinart, Veuve Clicquot and Dom Pérignon and raise a glass to toast the newly crowned King!
Priced at £55 per person, or £68 with a glass of R de Ruinart Champagne, treat yourself to the Coronation Afternoon Tea, available on Wednesday – Sunday from 3rd – 14th May, between 1 – 5pm. Reserve at parklane.intercontinental.com/the-wellington-lounge.
