Celebrate The Spring Equinox With New Chinese Medicine Residency At Pan Pacific London
20 Mar 2023
This March, luxury destination Pan Pacific London, is delighted to introduce its brand-new Traditional Chinese Medicine residency – a holistic wellness programme grounded in classical Chinese medicine practices and available to book from Wednesday 22nd March and every Wednesday thereafter. Linking with the hotel’s Asian heritage and oriental approach, the new offering promises guests a unique and truly unforgettable experience.
The residency is launching in line with the Spring Equinox, a time of year that Chinese medicine practitioners regard as an important stage to help balance the yin and yang in the body, given that it is when daylight begins to overtake the shadow. Drawing wisdom from the natural world, good health is believed by practitioners to come from this balance, with March seen as the perfect time to reset, detoxify and heal.
Led by widely-acclaimed Chinese medicine practitioner , Slavomir Latko, a specialist in Daoist wellness and classical Chinese medicine, sessions start with a private consultation to determine the relevant treatment plan best suited to each individual’s requirements. Each treatment is 90 minutes and priced at £250.
Tui Na (推拿) – Sports & Medical Massage
Believed to be the oldest system of bodywork, Tui Na can treat a wide range of musculoskeletal and non-musculoskeletal conditions. The practice of Tui Na involves the use of massage, joint manipulation, assisted stretching and applied pressure. This helps release tension from the tissues to stimulate under-active muscles and assist with stability and joint mobility.
Sonic Acupuncture 针刺
Acupuncture improves the body’s function and promotes natural self-healing by stimulating specific anatomic sites, called acupuncture points. To activate these points, precisely calibrated tuning forks, tuned to a coherent musical scale, are pressed lightly to the skin. Following a consultation, the most beneficial frequencies for the guest are used, transmitting soothing vibrations to organs, skin and DNA. This restores internal balance, leading to harmonious functioning of organs and better mental health.
Cupping (拔罐)
The old Chinese medical maxim holds that pain is the result of blockages or impediments of vital energy flows, known as Qi. Cupping is a method of clearing these blockages to restore the body’s natural flow of energy and relieve pain. Cupping therapy is a treatment that has withstood centuries and is still used today across the globe, to treat colds and flu, backaches, nagging carpal tunnel pains and even depression.
Daoist Abdominal Massage (内脏按摩)
This is a gentle but deep methodical massage that helps to release toxins, while also encouraging healthy blood flow to the organs, and improving breathing by invigorating the whole abdominal area. This treatment is known to be effective for aiding digestive disorders, regulating menstrual irregularities, as well as re-establishing the order of the abdomen after surgery or childbirth.
Sound Therapy
This treatment involves the use of therapeutical instruments and sound vibrations to induce deep states of relaxation, provide pain relief and help accelerate recovery. A sonic audible experience and a vibrational massage produces a series of harmonic vibrations aimed at detoxifying and strengthening internal organs, tissues, bones and ligaments of the body.
Once your treatment is complete, guests are welcome to make use of the impressive facilities that the hotel’s Wellbeing Floor has to offer, including an infinity pool that boasts city skyline views plus a sauna, steam room and the relaxing Drawing Room for a spot of calm and tranquillity.
Extend the experience by booking an overnight stay in one of Pan Pacific London’s elegant and stylish bedrooms from £520 + VAT.
