Celebrate the Platinum Jubilee with events at Searcys
12 May 2022
Plans for the Jubilee weekend? British restaurateur, Searcys, is pulling out all the stops to mark 70 years of Her Majesty’s reign. One of the UK’s oldest caterers, Searcys has been part of royal celebrations for over 175 years, catering for coronations and Jubilees for the Royal family and were present at the very start of Queen Elizabeth’s reign, hosting parties across London for the coronation in June 1953.
This year, Searcys has set to recreate the excitement and raise the glass to Her Majesty The Queen with a roster of events across its venues. From the official Jubilee Cookbook launch through to Champagne dining in the sky, don’t miss out on a right royal celebration this long bank holiday weekend. To create menus for the Jubilee celebration, the company dug into its archives and ledgers to discover the dishes served by Searcys for the festivities in summer 1953.
Attend the Jubilee Cookbook launch – 24th May 2022
116 Pall Mall www.116pallmall.com
A stone’s throw from Buckingham Palace, celebrate Her Majesty The Queen’s milestone at the official launch of ‘The Platinum Jubilee Cookbook’ at 116 Pall Mall. Taking place on Tuesday 24th May, from 6pm-8.30pm in the stunning Carlton Room, join the author, Ameer Kotecha (a diplomat and a pop-up restaurant chef), for a celebration of British food and drink, with flowing English Sparkling Wine, Pimm’s and canapes of the best of British smoked salmon, cheese, and scones. Ameer will be on hand to reveal diplomatic dinner party anecdotes through the years – the good, the bad and the highly entertaining – and provide contemporary stories of food being used as a potent diplomatic tool. Ameer will also be signing copies of his cookbook, featuring 70 recipes from British embassies and high commissions around the world, and with a joint foreword by Their Royal Highnesses The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall. 100% of royalties from sales of the book are being donated to charity, split equally between The Queen’s Commonwealth Trust (QCT) and The Prince of Wales’s Charitable Fund (PWCF).
