Celebrate British Sandwich Week This May | Max Halley X Burger & Lobster

Butties, baps, wraps and rolls, no matter the variation, everyone loves a good sarnie! It’s considered one of the country’s best culinary inventions and this British Sandwich Week (22nd – 28th May) celebrate the humble classic with two epic limited-edition lobster rolls by sarnie maestro and TV chef Max Halley of Max’s Sandwich Shop X Burger & Lobster.
Choose between two glorified creations with a playful and unapologetically British twist, that shine the spotlight on the finest wild-caught Atlantic Lobster, sustainably sourced from the coasts of Nova Scotia Canada, sandwiched between toasted brioche and topped with Max’s pièce de resistance, crushed crisps!
Lobster Cocktail Roll (£27)
A British favourite done the Burger & Lobster way. This nostalgic number comes piled high with fresh-picked lobster claw and knuckle meat dressed up to the nines with a retro Marie Rose sauce that’s finished with a dash of tabasco and brandy. Garnishes take the form of iceberg lettuce, avocado and cucumber, a squeeze of lemon, a sprinkle of finely chopped tarragon and crushed prawn cocktail crisps for good measure, all loaded into a buttery brioche roll and served alongside fries.
Fish & Chip Lobster Roll (£27)
Fish and chips, but not as you know it. Elevating the humble classic, this creation features juicy chunks of lobster meat bound with tartare sauce and garnished with lime pickled onions, a vibrant pea and mint purée, shredded baby gem lettuce and finely diced gherkins. All topped with crushed salt and vinegar crisps, packed into a toasted roll and accompanied with golden fries.
Max Halley comments: “Burger & Lobster trailblazed London’s love affair with the lobster roll. I’m over the moon to have worked with their Executive Chef, Ken, to marry their classic sandwich with a few of Britain’s most iconic dishes. For me, a great sandwich is about contrasts, sweet and sour, crunchy and soft, and so on. These two banging rolls have them in bucket loads! I am, of course, also extremely proud to continue my work making sure as many people as possible know that there isn’t a sandwich in the world that isn’t improved with a sprinkling of crushed up crisps!”
The limited-edition lobster rolls, both served with fries, are available exclusively at all nine Burger & Lobster restaurants until Monday 6th June for lunch and dinner.
