Whitbread is set to launch Bar + Block Steakhouse following the successful roll-out in Wimbledon, Belfast and Bristol in 2019. On 16th August, the new steak-focussed all-day casual dining restaurant will open on Reading Road in Winnersh, Reading.
Bar + Block Winnersh will be a 418 sqm, 189 cover informal steakhouse serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, with an emphasis on delivering high quality steaks at high-street prices. Signature dishes include rotating steak specials from the Butcher’s Block, as well as the Tira De Ancho – a chargrilled 14oz spiral cut ribeye, marinated in garlic, parsley and chilli and served with chimichurri. Bar + Block will also offer an extensive drinks range, with a focus on craft beers, specially curated wines and innovative cocktails such as Salted Caramel Espresso Martinis and a Flamingo Punch – an indulgent blend of Jose Cuervo tequila, watermelon, fresh lime and cranberry.
The modern design inspired by the theatre of food and drink, will feature a large bar with copper detailing and an open kitchen, complemented by reclaimed wood, high quality fabrics, comfy seating and warm lighting. Decorative finishing touches include the brand’s signature neon cow, alongside a number of contemporary artwork pieces.
