Back with a bang after a head-to-toe refurb, The Vine brings a new seasonal menu and North London’s first shuffleboard tables to NW5. Between the leafy streets of Tufnell Park and the hustle and bustle of Kentish Town, this local is set to be the go-to for shuffle, bites and booze.
Every Day I’m Shufflin’
The latest trend to turn even the least competitive of Londoners’ heads, shuffleboard is the must-play game and The Vine is home to two 12-footers. Each board comes with a ‘Ring for Service’ bell to save valuable minutes of interruption from all-important shuffling!
Following an extensive facelift, the impressive Edwardian building has maintained a bright and airy feel to the interior whilst introducing warmer colours to keep it cosy and comforting during the cooler months. An extended wrap-around bar unites the front and back of the pub whilst two function rooms – the Highgate and Camden Rooms – give drinkers and diners a place for private events. The Snug, just off the main bar, is the ideal spot for groups who want their own space.
With plenty of hidden nooks and corners, the pub has a unique style and character that makes it an inviting local for family dinners, drinks with friends or a game or two of shuffleboard. Making it the place to be, seven days a week, The Vine plays host to comedy nights every Tuesday, as well as quiz nights on Wednesdays. Live music ends the week on a Friday with a brass carol band playing throughout December.
Strong Food Game
The Vine’s Executive Chef has created fresh, modern and colourful dishes with a focus on small plates and sharing, with choices including seabass ceviche with pink grapefruit; dry-rubbed bone-in chicken with blueberry BBQ sauce; pulled beef brisket croquettes; and a sharing dish of oozing irresistible baked camembert with pecan, apricot and sourdough.
Mains range from comforting pub classic and seasonal specials to healthier options with the likes of a game pasty with autumn greens sitting alongside an autumnal squash, roots, grains, tahini dressing, broccoli, preserved lemon and sumac salad. For those bonkers about burgers, The Vine’s selection includes a classic double beef patty with cheese, as well as Southern-fried buttermilk chicken, maple bacon, blue cheese mayo; and pork & fennel with BBQ pork shoulder, red slaw and sriracha mayo.
Up your weekend game with brunch at The Vine – relax over the papers whilst tucking into Turkish eggs; ham and eggs with bubble & squeak; or brioche French toast with caramelised banana.
It’s all about gin at The Vine – as well as extensive selection of them, there’s house-crafted cocktails using a new Sipsmith fusion each month. Also on offer is a varied wine list, available alongside draft beers and craft brews from local London brewers.
Take It Outside
Just moments from Hampstead Heath, this family and dog-friendly pub is still the proud owner of arguably Kentish Town’s best pub garden. The all-weather area is fitted with heaters to keep drinkers and diners warm, come rain or shine.
If you’re looking for the perfect private area for an event, dinner, or shuffleboard victory party, The Vine has two sparkling, newly-refurbished rooms ready and waiting. Transforming into a decadent private dining space for up to 20, the Highgate Room is the perfect place to push the boat out, with a stunning fireplace and impressive chandelier. The larger Camden Room can host up to 40 for meetings, private celebrations and more!
Hear it through The Vine and get your head in the game!
