There’s a NEW Christmas Sando Coming to Town! Junsei Launches London’s Luxurious Christmas Sandwich

It’s not Christmas without Christmas sandwiches and acclaimed Japanese restaurant and yakitori-ya Junsei is taking things one step further with a new and limited-edition Wagyu Beef Sando – London’s most luxurious Christmas sandwich.
This December, Executive Chef Aman Lakhiani is doing away with the traditional turkey and elevating London’s sandwich game with authentic techniques and the most luxurious of ingredients sourced straight from Japan.
The star of the new sando is a generous slab of richly marbled A4 Wagyu tri-tip beef, a succulent prime cut sourced from the coastal region of Kagoshima. Made to an exacting method, the Wagyu is carefully grilled to perfect medium-rare done-ness over flaming Binchōtan charcoal, a white variety made from Japanese oak and considered the purest in the world. After resting, it’s tucked into lightly scorched Shokupan milk bread slices and served with pickled cabbage and a Tonkastu style plum chilli sauce, perfectly marrying spice, sweet and salty notes in umami harmony.
Priced at £35, this exceptional Christmas special is available at Junsei on Marylebone’s Seymour Place from now until 24th December. Diners can also enjoy the restaurant’s signature skewers, which consciously use every part of the chicken, alongside kushiyaki vegetable skewers, elevated donabe (rice) bowls and seasonal Japanese hot plates.
