As the evenings grow longer and the mercury rises, step into summer at the Tanqueray Garden, a vibrant gin garden complete with negroni fountain, popping-up at The Sipping Room at West India Quay.
A collaboration between award-winning gin Tanqueray No. TEN and Drake & Morgan is now open and running until the end of August, transporting you to a place far removed from the concrete and glass jungle over the river at Canary Wharf. Enter via a fragrant archway, complete with grapefruits, lemons and limes, paying homage to the fresh citrus fruits used to distill Tanqueray No.TEN, and discover an expansive riverside oasis, complete with your own pick-your-own living herb wall.
Proving just the tonic to those balmy summer evenings is the Tanqueray Garden bespoke cocktail menu. Drink in the essence of summer with signature serves such as theSevilla Spritz (Tanqueray Flor de Sevilla, pink grapefruit sherbet, prosecco); and the Flora Smash (Tanqueray No. TEN, lemon juice, raspberries, cucumber, elderflower syrup, ginger ale). Customise your cocktail further by helping yourself to a sprig of mint, thyme or rosemary from the Garden’s herb wall.
What’s a garden without a fountain? Tanqueray Garden’s dedicated Rosé Negroni Fountain is a water feature with a difference. With serves poured straight from the fountain, guests can enjoy a summery twist on the classic cocktail blend (Tanqueray Sevilla, Belsazar rosé, Campari). Cheers to that!
Intimate cocktail masterclass sessions, hosted by Diageo Reserve brand ambassador, Nicci Stringfellow will take place from 6-8pm on 13th June and 3rd July, inviting guests to learn more about the history of gin, as well as the flavours of Tanqueray No. TEN and the art to creating gin-infused cocktails. Guests will receive a Tanqueray No. TEN and Tonic on arrival, before making their own bespoke infusions using the fresh herbs, fruits and vegetables available in the garden. Those looking to dine can enjoy The Sipping Room’s stunning new spring/summer dishes featuring delicious seasonal salads created by antipodean chef, restaurateur and food writer, Peter Gordon. Choices, showcasing Peter’s flair for fusing interesting global ingredients and flavours, include baby beetroot with broad beans, goat’s curd and hazelnuts; kohlrabi with watermelon, tofu, mangetout and candied walnuts; and roast cauliflower with seeds, olives, broad beans, peas and olive tapenade. Also on the menu is an exciting array of new vegetarian and vegan options such as a flat mushroom burger with smoked vegan mozzarella, tomato and beetroot hummus sitting alongside an array of small plates, sharing boards, burgers and grills.
