Take to the High Seas! FishWorks launches new Ocean-Themed Afternoon Tea
26 Oct 2020
Enjoy a taste of the ocean with FishWorks’ first ever High Sea – an afternoon tea straight from the sea in the heart of Covent Garden. Launching 9th November, diners can dive deep into a three-tiered array of the freshest seafood, seafaring sandwiches and scrumptious sweets.
Known for serving up the freshest of fish and seafood, responsibly sourced from Devon and Cornwall’s fish markets and day boats, FishWorks High Sea offers three delicious tiers of seaside-inspired fare. Start off with the Sun tier, piled high with delicate homemade salmon gravlax blinis, British herring rollmops, Argentinian prawns with Marie Rose dip, and Jersey Rock Oysters with shallot vinegar.
Continue your trip to the coast with the Sea tier, showcasing savoury cornbread and jalapeño muffins with fresh picked crab, and a maritime take on the traditional assortment of sandwiches – think crayfish with mango and lime mayonnaise in basil bread, smoked salmon with crème cheese in stout bread, and a mini lobster roll with avocado.
No afternoon tea would be complete without patisserie, so finish off with the Sand tier, with two homemade scones with clotted cream and strawberry jam, and a collection of Petits Gateaux: miniature versions of the classic Eton Mess, lemon tart, and chocolate brownie.
The High Sea is accompanied by a choice of quintessentially British tea blends, such as English Breakfast and Earl Grey. Served seven days a week 12-5pm at FishWorks Covent Garden, the tea is priced at £25 per person (available for a minimum two people). Add a glass of Champagne for £12 each.
