SOW is on a mission to bring naturally good food to Londoners. In the fast pace of London life, convenience is king and SOW has planted itself on Soho’s Great Marlborough Street to provide time-poor workers and busy shoppers with delicious bowl food on-the-go. And, with Frederick Forster, a former National Chef of the Year and Roux Scholar, behind the concept, this is fast food that’s full of flavour and nutrition.
Food for Thought
Open from breakfast through to late evening, Forster has used his wealth of experience to create a menu that draws inspiration from around the world. Each bowl is prepared fresh and fast, layered with natural ingredients and complementing textures to create a satisfying one-dish meal, from warming breakfasts and uplifting lunches, to wholesome salads, suppers and snacks in between. Food made fresh to order ensures minimal waste and with health-conscious, vegan and gluten-free options, there’s something for everyone.
Breakfast bowls include the likes of coconut milk pancakes; smoked salmon, egg and spinach charcoal bun; or bean stew with avocado and eggs, whilst nourishment from lunchtime through to dinner comes in the form of fresh chargrilled tuna salad; Thai green chicken curry; and lamb meatballs with couscous, tomatoes and Greek yoghurt. Must tries are SOW’s pillowy hot buns generously filled with roasted aubergine, feta and basil or spiced lamb and harissa. Vegans and vegetarians can delight in vibrant dishes such as quinoa salad with chargrilled broccoli; and a wholesome squash, aubergine and chickpea curry.
Tasty treats include banana cake with vanilla and orange cream cheese; and chia pudding with dates and roasted cashews as well as freshly baked pastries, cookies and cakes to satisfy your sweet tooth.
Coffee comes courtesy of speciality roasters, Allpress, tea is organic from Joe’s Tea Co and there’s an array of juices and soft drinks, including kombucha and non-alcoholic gin and tonic, to quench thirsts.
SOW’s clean, urban interiors are accented with natural elements and textures, set against soft lighting and an organic colour palette of light grey, earthy reds and terracotta oranges to create an inviting space for eating in or alfresco. Industrial, exposed piping is balanced with wooden clad walls, adorned with expansive mirrors and illustrations of natural flora whilst greenery is scattered amongst the space and foliage surrounds the entrance.
A refreshingly honest take on natural food to go – get bowled over by SOW.
