Champagne is on ice as the ultimate masterclass of all things fizz returns to London post lockdown. Home to Europe’s longest Champagne Bar and known for its extensive collection of Champagne by the glass, bottle and magnum, St Pancras Brasserie and Champagne Bar by Searcys is reopening its Champagne masterclass for the first time in two years from 22 July, starting with Champagne Remedy, as part of Searcys Series of dinners, masterclasses, and experiences.
Guests will sip on fizz whilst learning about Champagne in a guided tasting, complete with paired seasonal menus. The tutored tasting will feature monthly Champagne specials, matched to a three-course dinner, all for £65 per person.
Proving Champagne is the best medicine, July specials will take inspiration from an early 20th century physician Arthur Hopkirk’s remedy “There is no finer pick me up…than good fizz”, focusing on bottles which have brought optimism and good spirits through past uncertain times. Champagnes will include the likes of Bollinger Special Cuvée Brut, Drappier Millésime Exception Brut and Veuve Clicquot Demi-Sec, while the pairing menu will focus on seasonal British dishes, with highlights of Confit Herdwick lamb, goat’s curd, Heritage beetroot salad and Stone bass fillet, smoked haddock, West Country mussels and Puy lentil broth and samphire.
