Reviving the days of Ernest Hemingway sipping daiquiris to the sounds of the habanera, the new restaurant and bar will be pulling out all the stops with flavour-packed Latin-inspired food, irresistible rum cocktails and sensational carnival entertainment. COME ON IN
Located in a 50s converted dockside warehouse, reminiscent of a Havana sea port during the prohibition era, step inside the impressive Revolución de Cuba. Set across two floors with spinning ceiling fans, tropical plants and dramatic artwork adorning the walls, find a unique, colourful and vibrant rùstico hotspot in Bristol. On the ground floor, dine at the cantina, head to the patio’s traditional Havana style bar or kick back and enjoy the carnival fever on the waterside terrace complete with open fire pit. Meanwhile, head upstairs to the first floor to unwind with friends in plush party booths and hit the stylish dancefloor, perfect for a night of live music, Latin-themed dancers and much, much more.
LA CANTINA
The kitchen pays homage to the best of Cuban, Caribbean and South American food, all cooked to order inRevolución de Cuba’s cantina until midnight. Innovative dishes deliver exotic twists such as the Cheeseburger Tacos lightly seasoned beef topped with melting Manchego cheese, served in three soft corn tortillas; and theQuesadilla Burger; filled with mozzarella, hot chilli cheese, spinach and serrano ham.
Small dishes on the restaurant’s tapas menu provide big flavours, such as the Roasted Chorizo in a red wine and honey sauce; perfectly formed Albondigas in a rich tomato sauce; Mojito Prawns in Revolución De Cuba’s signature mojito batter with a lobster mayo; and Nachos del sol topped with Roquito pepper and Manchego cheese sauce, black beans, guacamole and mango salsa. Hero mains include the Paella de Cuba (aromatic rice with succulent prawns, marinated chicken, smoky chorizo and pico de gallo) and the delicious Chicken Enchilada(Cajun chicken, charred onions, mixed peppers and refried beans all rolled up in a soft flour tortilla.)
CUBAN COCKTAILS
Get the party started with what promises to be the best rum cocktails in town, from marvellous mojitos and daiquiris in a dizzy array of flavours through to classic drinks and cocktail sharers. The ‘Rum Icons’ menu offers premium, signature serves made with an exciting range of rums, such as the Classic Mojito or the Mai Tai, a beautifully balanced mix of Appleton Estate Signature Blend and 12 Year Old Rare blend rum, almond, Cointreau, pineapple and lime. A variety of Rum Twist tipples include the Pineapple Passion Spritz (Bacardi, Añejo Cuatro rum, pineapple liqueur, Freixenet prosecco, passion fruit and soda) and Carnival Tropicana (Bacardi Carta Oro rum, pineapple, passion fruit and strawberry, finished with Red Bull tropical edition.)
Zero-proof creations are delicious alternatives to alcohol that don’t compromise on taste; the Lavender Lemonade(lemon, lime, mint and soda and a hint of lavender) or the Virgin Zombie Slayer (pineapple, passion fruit, strawberry and lime topped with zesty Ting) deliver all the fun and flavour with less of the fire.
FIESTA FRIDAYS
Fridays are a big deal at Revolución de Cuba – start the weekend early with a happy hour that kicks off at 3pm (also available Monday – Thursday) and enjoy any two cocktails for £10 until 5pm, before heading to the dancefloor where a carnival atmosphere is guaranteed with live Latin music and DJs.
