As the days get shorter and the nights draw in, family-owned Hampshire winery, Hattingley Valley is helping to see you through the arrival of autumn with the release of its first still red wine, a 2016 Pinot Noir.
Known for its award-winning English sparkling wines, Hattingley Valley’s STILL Pinot Noir (RRP £25) is the second wine in the STILL By Hattingley collection, the winery’s first range of premium still wines, following the launch of 2019 Rosé in spring. Made from 100% Pinot Noir, using only the ripest black grapes hand-picked from the best vines, the wine is fermented on the skins for two weeks, before being transferred to French oak barrels to age for a further three years, providing an elegant structure and silky finish.
Bursting with aromas of cherry, raspberry, strawberry and pomegranate, accented by hints of toast and dark chocolate; the full-bodied red wine pairs perfectly with venison stew or vegetable ragú. With a delicious flavour of rich dark berry fruit and notes of smoke, Hattingley’s STILL Pinot Noir is the ideal accompaniment to sip by the fire on a cosy night in, or as a crowd-pleaser when entertaining friends.
A small batch production, the 2016 Pinot Noir is available to purchase in limited quantities from Friday 31st July from www.hattingleyvalley.com.
