Premier Inn and Whitbread restaurants say HUGE thank you to Forces’ heroes
03 Nov 2020
To say thank you to our service men and women ahead of Remembrance Day this November, the UK’s biggest hotel company, Premier Inn, will be offering their famous cooked breakfasts for free to retired and service personnel staying at their hotels in Scotland on 10th November for breakfast on 11th. Headed by Premier Inn’s very own Heath Reynolds, a veteran who served 23 years in the army, the complimentary breakfast is a token to applaud the bravery and dedication of service personnel.
Proud to be supporting their staff, the breakfast will be launched by Heath Reynolds, whose military career saw him serve in Germany, as well as working as part of Special Forces before finishing his career working in intelligence at Catterick. Now part of the Premier Inn family as a night porter, Heath has been chosen to launch the free breakfast to uniformed military personnel and veterans, available to guests of the hotel this Remembrance Day (Wednesday, November 11).
With hotels throughout Scotland, including Aviemore, Oban and the major cities, the offer is exclusive to Forces’ heroes who are staying overnight in any one of the Whitbread-owned Premier Inn hotels in Scotland, on Tuesday 10th November, ahead of Remembrance Day. Guests will need to book in advance, and the breakfast can be redeemed through valid ID, uniforms, or in the case of veterans, their medals.
Continuing their thanks, Whitbread restaurants nationwide, including Beefeater, Brewers Fayre, Table Table, and Cookhouse and Pub, will continue to offer discounts all year round to Forces’ and NHS heroes, redeemable through presenting either a Defence Discount Service or a Blue Light Card.
Heath said: “I’m so proud to work for a business that acts as a force for good in the community and am delighted we are able to show our appreciation for veterans and service personnel in this small way. Being based near the garrison we have many guests from the armed services or who are families of army personal as well as retired personnel. Many of our team members also have connections to the armed forces, such as wives of the Gurkha regiment – I really enjoy this as I feel I have an extra personal connection with our guests and team”.
Premier Inn Managing Director Simon Ewins said: “The UK’s Armed Forces do us proud on a daily basis, so we are delighted to treat Forces’ heroes’ guests to a free breakfast this Remembrance Day as a small token of our appreciation. We are also pleased to offer year-round discounts thorough the Defence Discount Service and Blue Light Card schemes – meaning those in the Armed Forces, alongside a host of other people who dedicate their lives to helping others, can tuck into a hearty price reduction at selected restaurants’ up and down the country all year round”.
Whitbread’s commitment to the Armed Forces and other key workers is part of its Force for Good programme.
