Pomona’s Welcomes Local Chef Wolfe Conyngham
29 Jan 2018
It’s all change at Notting Hill’s neighbourhood restaurant Pomona’s as it welcomes the arrival of highly talented and passionate chef, Wolfe Conyngham. To celebrate the launch of the chef’s new menu, Pomona’s will be offering 50% off food on weekdays between 6th–16th February 2018.* To claim the offer, tables must be booked in advance by calling the restaurant on 020 7229 1503.
Wolfe – formerly of popular Notting Hill restaurant, Wolfe’s is back on home turf. He has his knives sharpened, ready to give the menu a makeover with a focus on freshness, sustainability and lovingly prepared food.
Wolfe brings a melting pot of cultures influenced from his travels, inspired by both sides of the pond. The eclectic new menu showcases nutritional, healthy and seasonal dishes, using sustainably and locally-sourced ingredients. The menu offers a variety of plates bursting with freshness from ‘wood & charcoal’ to ‘healthy & light’, all made on site. Daily-changing homemade bread, house-smoked salmon and meat, soup and fish of the day are all championed on the menu. Pomona’s classic signature dishes, such as Welsh lamb rump, beef short ribs and the house burger (British veal and beef patty, smoked bone marrow, wild Madagascan lemon pepper), all benefit from the technique of cooking with a BERTHA grill, bringing big flavours to the table. A fine selection of seafood dishes also feature on the menu, including grilled Madagascan prawns, Indonesian monkfish curry and lobster tortellini.
At the weekend brunch is delivered sunny side up. Dishes include pancakes topped with whipped mascarpone and berries; French toast with maple syrup and bacon; and avocado toast topped with poached eggs. The eggs featured on the brunch menu are carefully-sourced from Gloucestershire’s Clarence Court and are exclusive to Pomona’s, highlighting the chefs’ determination to serve only the best ingredients. Add a coffee or smoothie, such as Express Kale (kale, almond milk, mango and honey), Party Chard (apple, chard, peach and strawberry) or Chia Fix (coconut yoghurt, pineapple and chia seeds) to sip alongside your chosen dish.
With softer lighting and an updated colour palette, Pomona’s has been given a fresh lease of life for Notting Hill’s foodies to enjoy. Half of the restaurant has been redecorated in a soothing mix of creams and greys to help balance the brighter finishes of the décor and furniture, resulting in a striking and unique restaurant space. Meanwhile the open kitchen allows guests to see their food go from the wood-fired BERTHA oven to plate. The inviting outdoor garden terrace is perfect for lazy afternoons and evenings throughout the summer, and the trio of private dining rooms on the upstairs floor provide the perfect spot for parties, family celebrations and meetings.
Pomona’s – neighbourhood dining at its best.
