The Oaks, part of The White Brasserie Company, has just opened its doors and is offering-up a unique blend of English country charm and French coastal chic. The stunning new pub has launched in the heart of Highcliffe, Dorset and comes complete with spacious bar, beautiful brasserie and stunning garden.
The Oaks pièce de résistance are three pastel coloured six-seater beach huts – set within its expansive beer garden – that provide the perfect summer venue for small groups, parties and, of course, the obligatory pic for Instagram loving patrons. Kitted-out with candles and cosy cushions that will guarantee you an intimate drinking and dining experience, each hut can also be opened up to let in the sea breeze as it rushes up off the English Channel. Regardless as to whether you want to settle-in for a peaceful evening with a few of your closest friends, or embrace the lively atmosphere of the surrounding garden, The Oaks’ beach huts are the place-to-be in Highcliffe this summer.
The sprawling south-facing Garden Room (available for private hire) runs the length of the building and overlooks the alfresco decked dining area and stunning pergola, where party-perfect festoon lighting creates an entertaining festival-style atmosphere.
The menu is characterised by dishes featuring impeccably sourced ingredients with attention paid to seasonality, sustainability, quality and flavour. The French brasserie summer must-tries include the duck leg confit with citrus sauce; crayfish and mango salad; Moroccan lamb tagine and the Malabar fish curry with toasted coconut. Classics feature aplenty with smoked salmon and haddock fishcakes, homemade pie of the week; free range Cornish beef burger and, as one would expect from a pub, fabulous meat from Aubrey Allen, the Queen’s butcher, with Sunday roasts served with bottomless rich gravy, roasties, and Yorkshire puddings. For a lighter bite the bar menu offers some delicious treats, and, from the 1st August, the family-friendly pub will be offering a monthly-changing set menu with two courses for just £12.95.
The same care has gone into the drinks, with a carefully curated selection of classic cocktails, spirits, and a strong wine list from across the Channel and further afield – all waiting to be explored alongside a cracking selection of ales and beers.
The pub is open seven days a week from 11am until close and from 12pm on Sundays – the perfect place to kick back and enjoy a pint. The Oaks bar & garden is pet-friendly, so feel free to bring your pooch!
With an equally breath-taking interior and tantalising menu, The Oaks is sure to become a local favourite.
