Luxury boutique hotel Flemings Mayfair is serving up fine festive cheer for all occasions this winter. From deliciously warming cocktails in the new Manetta’s bar to special menus with a sprinkling of Michelin magic in recently opened Ormer Mayfair for Christmas Eve, New Year’s Eve, festive lunches and private dining, have a very merry Christmas in the heart of Mayfair.
The sophisticated new bar Manetta’s has introduced three limited edition seasonal cocktails to sip and savour on cold, wintery nights. Whether snuggled up on one of the Sheraton-style sofas or perched on one of the beautiful bar stools to watch the master mixologists at work, the cocktails embrace everyone’s favourite festive flavours.
Adding to a culturally-inspired cocktail menu that gives a knowing nod to famed creatives such as Agatha Christie and Gertrude Stein, Head Barman Marco Matesi, has looked to historic masterpieces that capture the nativity scene for his new creations (£14 each). The Nativity (Michelangelo Caravaggio) features spiced 15-year-old Glenfiddich with Disaronno, dry cranberry and hints of orange and lemon; The Gift (taken from Leonardo Da Vinci’s Adoration of the Magi), is an elegant gin cocktail with zesty citrus zing from clementine, kumquat and mandarin, while spiced red wine and rum infusion Le Berger (from Georges de la Tour’s Adoration of the Shepherds) warms with cinnamon and spiced biscuit. Slink into Manetta’s from 11am until 11pm every day.
Escape the office and treat the team to a merry lunch in celebrated chef Shaun Rankin’s new restaurant Ormer Mayfair. Available throughout December and priced at just £26.50 for two courses and £29.50 for three, the set menu will include indulgent dishes of pumpkin velouté, beef cheek and vanilla and chestnut soufflé with Christmas pudding ice-cream.
Capture the magic of Christmas Eve with a truly special dinner from Michelin-starred chef Rankin. An indulgent three-course dinner will be accompanied by the captivating sounds of talented harpist Maria Chiossi, for £65 per person. Enjoy starters including roast foie gras, mains of Scottish aged beef fillet with smoked bone marrow or traditional roast turkey, and Rankin’s winning dish from BBC’s Great British Menu, treacle tart, to finish.
New Year’s Eve
Pop a bottle of British sparkling wine in Ormer Mayfair this New Year’s Eve, while indulging in a delectable eight-course tasting menu celebrating local and seasonal flavours from across the British Isles. Starting with a warming artichoke velouté served with confit chicken wing, the menu will feature Rankin’s signature Jersey lobster ravioli as well as dishes of Dover sole, Scottish venison and British camembert with orange marmalade. With a glass of complimentary Champagne on arrival, the New Year’s Eve menu is priced at £145 per person and available to book for dinner only from 6:30pm – 10:30pm.
The restaurant’s two stunning new private dining rooms allow for parties between 12 and 20 guests to enjoy a three-course menu of expertly executed dishes and impeccable service for£75 per person. Including Christmas classics of home-cured smoked salmon to start and roast Norfolk turkey with trimmings, the menu will also feature a selection of Rankin’s signature dishes from the Jersey shores such as pine nut crusted turbot served with cauliflower, cockles and sea vegetables. Desserts include yoghurt gateaux with mandarin flavours and a selection of British and French cheeses by luxury producers Paxton and Whitfield.
