If ever mum needed a treat it’s this Mother’s Day. With WFH, home-schooling and endless cooking, give mum a break from the kitchen and treat her to a superlative selection of sushi, sashimi and steak from critically acclaimed Hot Stone in Islington or its new sister restaurant in Fitzrovia.
Experts and innovators in modern Japanese cuisine, Hot Stone will be offering home delivery across most London postcodes (and collection) this Mother’s Day. Designed by Executive Chef Padam Raj Rai with his mum in mind, the special Surf & Turf inspired menu uses only the finest ingredients to ensure the best home dining experience.
Prioritising provenance and quality, traditional ingredients have been carefully sourced from Japan while fresh and sustainable fish, seafood and vegetables are painstakingly selected from local suppliers. Hot Stone is one of just eight restaurants in the UK to serve Kobe beef and the menu features Sanpuki Nori, grown at the shores of the Ariake Sea, premium Koshihikari rice – widely considered to be the best sushi rice in the world – and a range of aged soy sauces (up to 30 years matured).
The special menu starts with a selection of tataki and sukiyaki rolls with Kizami ponzu, made using the highest grade A5 Japanese Wagyu. Next, unwrap a beautiful Chirashi box, which arrives encased in traditional furoshiki cloth, and discover a stunning assortment of seafood – think delicate scallops, rich fatty tuna, Hamachi and ikura topped with truffle and caviar with 2-year aged soy sauce – all freshly prepared by hand. If you’re feeding a family at home, certified Kobe beef and a 24-piece Omakase box filled with jewel like sashimi and sushi can also be added to satisfy 2-3 diners.
For an indulgent dessert, finish two slices of homemade matcha and strawberry cheesecakes, and toast the very special woman in your life with a delicious lychee martini – kampai to you, mum!
The Mother’s Day Surf & Turf menu costs £295 and serves two generously. Available Thursday 18th – Friday from 5-9pm, and Saturday – Sunday 21stMarch from 12:00pm -9:00pm the menu can be ordered online to select London postcodes, with free delivery up to 3 miles, or collected from either restaurant.
