Created by Executive Chef world’s first Meatologist™ Ioannis Grammenos, Heliot Steak House’s renowned line-up of expert steak masterclasses – first launched in 2018 and featuring butchery, cookery, wine pairings and dining – will return to the award winning* restaurant at The Hippodrome Casino this autumn.
STEAK CLUB – 9th November 7pm, £120pp
For those who prefer to spectate, Steak Club highlights the prized qualities of each cut and the best ways to enjoy them in a bi-monthly dinner series. Hosted in Heliot Steak Club’s elegant Private Dining Room for an intimate group of guests, the evening will feature an immersive three-course dinner with expertly paired wines by resident sommelier Salvo Russo, with each event focused to an individual cut or steak-rearing region. On 9thNovember, the first masterclass of the new series will focus on Spanish steaks, carefully sourced from premium suppliers from the Basque Country and Andalusia, covering various cuts cooked to perfection, whilst the second will showcase the wonderful world of steaks on the bone.
SCHOOL OF MEATOLOGY – 16th November 6.30pm, £75pp
Fancy getting your hands dirty? Then head to the School of Meatology™, where Ioannis will teach you how to cook the perfect steak, in a detailed masterclass covering everything from how to butcher the beef to how to prepare, cook and serve your chosen cuts. Guests will enjoy a behind-the-scenes tour of the kitchen and a masterclass from Ioannis, followed by a three-course wine-pairing dinner at Heliot Steak House.
Located within The Hippodrome Casino, in the heart of London’s Leicester Square, Heliot Steak House specialises in dry aged USDA steaks, serving up nine different cuts cooked to orders. All are handpicked by Executive Chef and world’s first Meatologist™, Ioannis Grammenos, from third-generation master butchers, Tom Hixson of Smithfields, who ensures only the best prime beef is sourced from producers with animal welfare and heritage prioritised. In addition to his role at Heliot Steak House, Ioannis is the Head Judge at this year’s World Steak Challenge and also served on the judging panel of the Lumina Challenge 2020.
