The Hippodrome Casino, entertainment cornerstone of the West End and UK’s largest international-style casino, will launch its newest extension when it reopens on 15th August. The doors will open to the all-day and late-night al fresco terrace bar – called The Rooftop. It will make a very popular addition to the six floors of gaming, eight bars and award-winning Heliot Steak House. The 3000 sq. ft terrace will be welcoming gamers, diners, drinkers and entertainment-seekers back with a bang post-lockdown.
Spread across three spacious floors and accelerated to provide outdoor space in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic, The Rooftop offers an open-air oasis in the heart of the West End, far away from the hustle and bustle of the streets below. This haven is the perfect spot for socially distanced drinks and food this summer. The first two floors will be open for drinks, food, and gambling with the upper terrace dedicated solely to food and drinks, all with seated service. Smokers are in luck, with smoking permitted in designated areas across all three floors.
Make up for summer nights lost to lockdown with signature cocktails shaken and stirred – try the Double Trouble (Ketel One vodka, crème de cassis, orgeat syrup, blackberries, lime and mango) or a Lychee Tang (Bombay gin, peach liqueur, lychee, peach purée and lemon). The bar will also stock an extensive selection of draught and bottled beers and ciders, spirits and mixers and light, summery wines hand chosen for al fresco evenings by Head of Wine, Salvo Russo.
Guests looking for food can order from the 24-hour menu – think USDA beef burgers and roast salmon fillet – or make their way to Heliot Steak House on the first floor (open 5-10pm), named as the Best Steak Restaurant in the capital by TripAdvisor.
Also reopening will be The Hippodrome’s six floors of gaming, including the Poker Deck, which have been reconfigured to ensure safe distancing throughout. Sanitisation stations have been installed throughout the venue, alongside a new one-way system, Perspex screens on gaming tables, seated play. Face visors or masks will be worn by all customer-facing staff.
