Pining for the slopes and fun of après ski? Then head to The White Haus, a brand new pub officially opening its doors on Farringdon Street on 9th November. With three floors of rustic décor complete with cosy corners, cuckoo clocks and vintage cable cars, The White Haus brings the joie de vivre of ski season to the heart of the city from morning through to night.
Start the Haus party early at breakfast or brunch with breakfast pastries, fresh smoothies and a croque madame or monsieur. From schnitzels and sauerkraut to Swiss beer-battered fish and chips and sharing boards of Baked Mont d’Or, pickles and potatoes, theall-day menu from Executive Chef Jamie Polito and Head Chef Dan Davies is all about comfortingly familiar dishes with a European twist, using seasonal ingredients.
Spread over three floors, the new pub transports you to the mountains with rustic timber chalet-style décor, a roaring fireplace, cosy corners complete with sheepskin throws, ‘snowflake’ chandeliers and a bookable cable car for six. Old skis, mittens, photography and quirky memorabilia comes courtesy of the Ski Club of Great Britain whilst a full-size TV will screen old ski movies and winter sporting events. The exposed Balcony level and lower ground Pery Medal Room with its retro ski lift photobooth, are dedicated to dining and also available for private events and parties.
DJ sets and bottomless brunch are also on offer as well as a series of social events hosted by the Ski Club, so forget packing for the Pyrenees, leave your thermals at home and indulge in a spot of après ski at The White Haus.
