West London’s outdoor drinking scene just got a lot hotter! Throw on a pair of shades while the temperature is up and head to Pitcher & Piano Richmond for a glass of something cool and crisp. Post a fabulous makeover, Pitcher & Piano Richmond now boasts a stylish and leafy terrace and beer garden, making it the idyllic spot to kick back and soak up some rays.
Come on in (and out!)
Housed in a historic mansion building on the bank of the Thames, Pitcher & Piano is a haven of vintage design. A feature archway leads guests to an inviting restaurant and bar area, decked out with revivalist furniture, lighting and a collection of bric-a-brac. The conservatory – complete with decorative botanical features including a flower pendant and ivy hanging from the ceiling – is an intimate area for group bookings and small parties and is available for exclusive hire. When you’re done admiring the ground floor, head upstairs and take a seat by the restored baby grand piano, or enjoy a cocktail on the new industrial style high stools perched at the bar.
Come for the fresh new look, but stay for the terrace. Featuring a beautiful al fresco bar, complete with cocktail and beer stations and impressive views of the river. Watch the world go by, on land and water, whilst enjoying handcrafted cocktails, craft beers and light bites. With room for over 175 drinkers and diners, there’s plenty of space to enjoy the sunshine.
Drinks cater for all tastes. The cocktail list is packed with seasonal flavours courtesy of P&P’s skilled bartenders. Choices include the Strawberry Fields (Bacardi Carta Blanca rum, strawberries, basil, sugar syrup, balsamic vinegar, lime juice and pineapple juice); and a spicy Pineapple & Pepper Margarita (Patrón Silver tequila, Cointreau, sugar syrup, lime juice, pineapple juice and cracked pepper). Gin-lovers can rejoice with refreshing tipples of Elderflower Collins (Hendrick’s, St Germain Elderflower liqueur, lemon juice, sugar syrup, strawberries and cucumber), or The French Tart (Bombay Sapphire, St Germain Elderflower liqueur, Aperol, prosecco, lemon juice, cucumber, rosemary and soda).
For lovers of the grape, Pitcher & Piano’s extensive wine list has something for everyone, from reds and whites to rosés and sparkling. Brews include an extensive selection of craft bottled lagers and ales such as Estrella Damm, Flying Dog Easy IPA and Camden Pale Ale, as well as Aspall cider, Camden Hells and more on draught.
Grab a Bite
Whatever your reason for indulging in gin o’clock, enjoy your drinks with Pitcher & Piano’s delicious bar bites. Small dishes include vibrant beetroot hummus with feta and roasted squash and crispy cod with sweet chilli jam and crème fraiche – perfect for sharing. A selection of must-try salads includes chargrilled chicken Caesar salad or roasted cauliflower and potato salad with mango and lime dressing. Blow the diet with sinfully good skinny fries loaded with spicy beef chilli, melted cheddar, red Leicester, mozzarella and American-style mustard whilst Pitcher & Piano’s homemade beef burgers, made with their own special blend of chuck and brisket, are sure to satisfy.
