Re-opening on 2nd April following a major refurbishment, Wimbledon’s favourite local, Hand in Hand, is back with a brand-new look. The much-loved pub, and beating heart of Wimbledon Common, will be serving up the same fantastic seasonal British menus with a focus on pies, pudding and paddles, alongside unique bookable spaces and a new and improved interior.
With cosy corners, private party spaces, and alfresco dining, the Hand in Hand has been re-designed for family, locals and dedicated pub goers alike. With more open space and 30 extra covers, the pub has not forgotten its history – the central bar remains the focal point retaining the proper pub feel the Hand in Hand is so famous for.
Classic pub favourites come in the form of the Hand in Hand’s signature home-made pies and puddings, all washed down with satisfying paddles of beer. Delicious choices include cider braised rare breed pork belly and Bramley apple pie; steak and kidney; and for the veggies, caramelised red onion, chestnut mushroom and English spinach. Come Sunday, settle in for a leisurely roast made with seasonal British ingredients and finished with all the trimmings whilst brunch is served every day of the week from 10am with the likes of baked eggs with Jerusalem artichokes and kale; smashed avocado and spring pea sitting alongside a classic full English.
As one would expect from a Young’s pub, the bar is amply stocked with a whole host of beers, with a particular focus on cask ales and artisan craft brews – explore a whole host of brews with the pub’s award-winning paddles.
With warmer months and the Wimbledon Championship just around the corner, Hand in Hand is the ultimate place to watch the games with friends, family and fellow supporters. Enjoy al fresco drinking and dining on the terrace – destined to be a summer hotspot – whilst the pub’s new Garden Room, overlooking Wimbledon Common, is available for private dinners and parties as is the more intimate Study room.
Four legged friends are more than welcome, with complimentary dog biscuits and the chance to win the coveted ‘Dog of the Day’ award and the Hand in Hand is the perfect pitstop for dog-owners and their pampered pooches.
Add to this lots of great events from monthly acoustic sessions to landlord Andrew’s Pie & Ale Club and the Hand in Hand is a true village local designed for locals – for full details on forthcoming events, please visit www.thehandinhandwimbledon.co.uk.
