Fishers Gin, the authentic coastal spirit, has opened its doors in Aldeburgh overlooking the beach, at its new home which is the closest distillery to the sea in the UK. Now offering unique tours and tasting experiences, visitors can bolt on a stay at the neighbouring Brudenell Hotel for the ultimate seaside escape for gin-lovers.
Home to Fishers “Original” London Dry Gin, the brand-new Distillery housed in a converted beach house, sits just a few yards from the shingle and salt marshes. Offering uninterrupted views of the North Sea, an expansive outdoor terrace and a lounge space with a wood burner for the colder months, the Distillery is the perfect place to visit whilst in Aldeburgh.
The 90-minute Distillery tours, priced at £30 per person, offer guests a unique insight into the history and origin of Fishers and the local area, including a virtual tour of the River Alde. As well as an insight into the gin-making process and the specialist botanicals foraged to create the brand’s signature taste, visitors will enjoy a tutored tasting of Fishers, including unreleased varieties and seasonal cocktails. Unique to the Fishers Distillery tours is the botanical tea-making experience, where guests can make their own bespoke blend from a wide variety of native and traditional botanicals.
Guests will also have the chance to browse the gift shop selling exclusive Fishers Gin merchandise, from t-shirts, through to enamel mugs and dog bowls. The tours, pre-bookable online, are available for up to a maximum of six people, seven days a week.
Whether a local or visitor to the coast, a Fishers Gin Distillery tour provides an engaging experience that offers insight into both the gin-making process and Aldeburgh.
Fishers is more than a gin – it’s an expression of the English coast.
