Certain to stand out from the crowd, the pizza at Gallio is all about the base. The dough is a clever blend of impeccably sourced grains that not only taste better, but are also packed with antioxidants, and high in protein and fibre. Showcasing simplicity at its best, the nutritious grains are mixed with nothing more than sea salt, yeast, extra virgin olive oil and filtered water, before being left to prove for 18 hours and then being handcrafted into Gallio’s signature thin and crispy base.
Expertly sourced toppings offer a true taste of the Mediterranean – think marinated artichoke hearts with sun-dried tomatoes, kalamata olives and mozzarella; spiced lamb with labneh, rose harissa, guindilla peppers and fresh mint; and aubergine with house pickles, signature red sauce with fire-roasted piquillo peppers, za’atar and wild rocket.
Whilst pizza takes centre stage, there’s also a wide variety of vibrant seasonal salads and small plates including whipped beetroot borani; lamb meatballs with mint and yoghurt; and crispy halloumi with za’atar and a spicy yoghurt dip.
Protein-packed Mediterranean bowls come laden with grains, herbs, shredded carrot, turmeric cauliflower and much more, topped with your choice of Moroccan spiced chicken, lamb kofte, roasted aubergine or pesto-rissa’ salmon.
The menu also features a good selection of vegan and gluten-free options as well as freshly baked flatbreads and delicious desserts.
On the drinks list you’ll find a selection of beers, wines, premium spirits, juices, mocktails and smoothies, alongside plenty of cocktails. Must-tries include the Sicilian Sunshine, made with Malfy Gin, lemon, orange and cardamom, and the Hibiscus Mojo, a blend of Havana Rum, fresh mint, hibiscus, cucumber and lemon soda.
The interiors reflect the brand’s philosophy of bountifulness and will transport you to warmer climes. Expect sunshine colours, fired terracotta and handcut glazed tiles, brass tables, a plethora of hanging baskets and an olive tree. Diners can watch the trained pizza chefs in action at the counter.
Open from 11am until 10:30pm daily, Gallio is perfect for business lunches or dinner with friends and family. On the go? Click and collect for lunch al desko or order via Deliveroo for an office gathering or supper at home.
