Brasserie Blanc, the collection of French brasseries led by Raymond Blanc brings a touch of joie de vivre to the former Haig Distillery site in Fulham Reach, with a stunning riverside bar, restaurant and terrace.
Just a stone’s throw from Hammersmith station, the light and modern space is the essence of French savoir faire. From the floor-to-ceiling windows and contemporary glam screens to the show-stopping bespoke aged brass bar and Lee Broom lead crystal lighting; Brasserie Blanc is the jewel of Fulham Reach.
Eye-catching Moooi Heracleum lights follow the curvature of the building, while hanging crystal and decanter lights add a touch of classic style to the dining area. Ted Todd copper herringbone parquet flooring brings a shimmer to the large open plan space, leading to richly coloured luxe velvet banquettes looking out onto the river. The open kitchen pass allows diners to see Brasserie Blanc’s skilled chefs in action; while a semi-private raised dining area offers a more intimate setting for groups of up to 30 people.
Inspired by Raymond’s childhood spent in the French countryside, Brasserie Blanc offers expertly prepared French classics alongside more contemporary dishes. Guided by the seasons, the ever-changing à la carte menu reflects the very best produce available. Classics include the BB cheese soufflé; escargots with garlic herb butter; duck leg confit with black cherry sauce and dauphinoise potatoes; and a stunning bouillabaisse with hake, red mullet, seabream, gurnard, squid and mussels, with braised fennel, saffron potatoes and a garlic crouton.
More contemporary dishes that simply shout summer include grilled rock lobster tail and frites; chicken and green papaya salad; and a ravioli duo of goat’s cheese & rosemary, and pea & mint. Henri Le Worm’s children’s menu offers delicious dishes that don’t compromise on quality or taste for £6.95 for a main, side and dessert. Sunday lunch, served all day, is en famille with a range of fabulous roasts from sirloin of beef to a rack of free range cherry orchard pork.
Desserts include pistachio soufflé with rich chocolate ice cream, summer berry pavlova, or an expertly executed chocolate delice; a velvety-smooth chocolate mousse layered over a crispy feuillantine base and served with a kirsch panna cotta cream. A fabulous choice of seasonal fromage is also available, for those who prefer to end on a savoury note.
Pull up a stool at the central bar for a crisp, chilled glass of wine whilst grazing on a charcuterie board or head for the terrace for summer sipping al fresco. Whilst global wines are featured, exceptional French bins take centre stage on a list that features Brasserie Blanc’s own Blanc de Blancs sparkling. The cocktail list shows French flair and features concoctions bursting with seasonal flavours – must-try summer sips include a Cointreau Fizz with Fever-Tree lemon tonic, an Elderflower Collins and the Paloma with Ocho Reposado tequila, pink grapefruit juice, agave syrup and soda. Alternatively, hail the gin trolley stocked with a wide variety of gins, from classic London dries to fresh and floral varieties, for a G&T to your exact specifications. A selection of draft and bottled beers, ciders and mocktails complete the offer.
In true French style, four-legged friends are welcome during the day so bring your pooch post a morning stroll along the river.
Open for weekend breakfasts, morning coffees, leisurely lunches, delicious dinners and cocktails and charcuterie, Brasserie Blanc is a brasserie in the truest sense and this latest outpost from Raymond Blanc brings all the flavours of France to Fulham Reach. Bon Appetit!
