The five-course tasting menu will be a tribute to the heroic staff of the NHS, with each of Daniel’s dishes designed to celebrate the ‘everyday heroes’.
Heartfelt dishes on the menu at Fenchurch will champion the humble cup of tea – the ultimate symbol of comfort and care – and honour the sleepless nights of A&E through the use of solely nocturnal ingredients. Named after Florence Nightingale’s famous phrase ‘Life’s a splendid gift’, Daniel’s main will use British ingredients and nostalgic flavours to celebrate the nursing community, while dessert is the ultimate thank you to the staff of the NHS: a homemade cake.
‘Can I get you a cup of tea, love?’
Earl Grey smoked duck, celeriac, pear, spiced tea consommé and duck cracker
‘For all the sleepless nights’
English native lobster, heritage carrots, dill, caviar and bonito sauce
‘Life’s a splendid gift’
Aged fillet of beef, salsify, horseradish, young vegetables and radishes
‘Over a million thank ewes…. Every 36 hours’
Bergamot and honey cake with burnt honey ice cream
The tasting menu will run from 20th August, and is priced at £85 per person, with wine pairing / prestige wine pairing available for an additional £65 / £110. Throughout the month of August, Fenchurch Restaurant will donate 5% of sales from the tasting menu to Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust.
