With the Rugby World Cup and ICC Cricket World Cup happening in the coming months, get ahead of the action, rub shoulders (and dine) with two of Britain’s biggest sporting names, Matt Dawson MBE and Sir Ian Botham at ‘Smiths’ of Smithfield, in Farringdon.
In association with Heineken and Foster’s, the ‘sporting greats supper series’ kicks off in the midst of all the Six Nations action with Northampton, Wasps, England, three- time British Lion, TV pundit & ‘Question of Sport’ captain Matt Dawson MBE on 12th Marchfollowed, on 15th May, with dinner with larger-than-life cricketer and charity fundraiser, Sir Ian ‘Beefy’ Botham.
Kick-off each evening in style with a cocktail in the four-floor venue’s Death + Victory bar, before joining the sporting legends as they reflect on their careers, both on and off the pitch, while providing expert views on the upcoming World Cups. Fans will also get the chance to get up close and personal with exclusive meet-and-greets and Q&As before enjoying a three-course dinner in the elegant top floor dining room, No3, with its stunning views over The City. Head chef, Liam Walsh, will be serving up contemporary, seasonal dishes such as torched Cornish mackerel with grilled cucumber, smoked mackerel pate and oyster mayonnaise; and roasted rump of dry-aged scotch beef, celeriac dauphinoise, grilled hispi cabbage, bone-marrow croquette.
Tickets start at £95 inclusive of a welcome cocktail and three-course meal, or upgrade to the full VIP package and find yourself seated at your sporting hero’s table for dinner.
