As All Hallows Eve approaches, strange things are happening at Down Hall… be afraid, be very afraid! To mark the scariest night of the year, Down Hall is serving up a spooktacular afternoon tea for big and little ghouls.
Full of tricks and treats, afternoon tea starts with a selection of savoury bites – think severed finger sandwiches and devilled eggs – before traditional scones arrive warm with Devonshire clotted cream and Tiptree preserves. Finish with spellbinding sweets, including pumpkin and white chocolate muffins, blood orange curd tart, and apple cake with toffee apple icing.
Visiting vampires can quench their thirst with a glass of fizz (no blood allowed), alongside a selection of fine teas. The Halloween Afternoon Tea is available from the 11th October – 4th November 1pm – 5pm, and is priced from £30 per adult and £15 per child.
And that’s just the start of the fun – families can also make an eerie weekend of it thanks to the dedicated Autumn Half Term package, which invites little witches, ghouls and ghosts to stay for free and enjoy some frighteningly fun activities. Indoor play gets a hell-raising makeover in the dedicated Games Room, which will be fully kitted out with crazy golf, giant Jenga and much much more.
Available from 19th October – 5th November, the package is priced at £189 based on two adults and two children sharing, and includes dinner and a buffet breakfast as part of the stay*.
Located amid 110 acres of haunted woodland just outside Bishop’s Stortford on the Hertfordshire/Essex border, Down Hall is the ideal retreat to raise the spirits this Halloween.
