Wrap up warm this winter and head on down to The Bear, Cobham, for some seasonal cheer. With a host of special events planned and an indulgent menu of festive delights, this cosy community pub is set to pull out all the stops for the most magical Christmas yet.
From the office Christmas party to a family lunch, there are bespoke packages to cater to your every need. Whether you’re planning a drinks and canapé reception, or seeking holiday activities to spread the Christmas cheer, there’s joy to be had for one and all.
The Riverhill Room, Cobham’s only private dining room, has designed a festive feast for groups of 15-22. Guests can look forward to a bottle of Tempio Prosecco and a starter selection of British charcuterie, followed by a sharing roast of Côte de Boeuf and a whole glazed gammon with all the trimmings. Round-off the feast with a wheel of cheese served with seeded crackers and grapes, all for just £45 per person
Get Fizzy with it – Prosecco Cocktail Evening
Thursday 14th November, 7pm – £15 per person
Gather the gang and head to The Bear for an evening of cocktail mastery. Learn from the professionals, as you’re guided through making three Mezza Prosecco cocktails, which you can enjoy with specially paired canapés. By the end of the masterclass, you’ll be armed with some expertly crafted recipes and your own Mezza sparkling stopper, so your bubbles never go flat.
Sipsmith Frost Fair – Hot Gin Night
Thursday 21st November, 7pm – £20 per person
Enjoy an evening of all things gin with Sipsmith. Delve into the world of hot gin with tastings of hot Gingerbread G&T, a Mulled Sloe Gin and an Orange and Cacao Hot Chocolate. Price includes a double G&T upon arrival.
Pop-Up Christmas Market
Friday 29th November, 4-8pm
In celebration of the Cobham Christmas Extravaganza, The Bear will be hosting a pop-up Christmas market, bringing together local artists and independent shops for all your Christmas shopping needs. Pop down to the pub’s front garden and browse a host of stalls, from homeware and accessories, to cupcakes and crochet. A local church choir will also be singing Christmas carols to bring a touch of festive magic to the evening.
Thursday 5th December, 7pm – £45 per person
Kick-start December by getting crafty with The Bear’s wreath-making workshops. Charlie, from local Grenville Nurseries, will guide you through a step-by-step lesson on how to make and decorate your own wreath from a selection of materials provided, so you can deck your halls in style. Includes a glass of mulled wine on arrival.
Christmas Cookies and Cocoa
Monday 23rd December, 11am-12pm – £15
One for all the family, while kids decorate gingerbread men, mum and dad can relax with a boozy hot chocolate, made with a shot of Tia Maria or Baileys. Price includes four cookies to ice, a hot chocolate for the little one and a boozy hot chocolate for the adults.
A New Year’s Eve ‘Tea’ Party
Tuesday 31st December – Wednesday 1st January – 8pm-12.30am
Travel back in time to 1919 and ring in the ‘20s with a one of a kind, prohibition ‘tea party’. Celebrate the new decade in style with a three-course meal, a drink on arrival and live jazz music from The Kameleons.
