In honour of Her Majesty The Queen’s Jubilee, luxury Grade II listed Great Northern Hotel is set to rename its bar for the month of June. Currently the Snug Bar, the newly named Platinum Lounge will serve up a truly regal limited-edition Jubilee cocktail menu, with the stylish King’s Cross hotel also offering a Platinum Stay Package for those looking to enjoy the capital’s celebrations over the bank holiday weekend.
Boasting quintessentially British interiors with eclectic art adorning the walls, the opulent Platinum Lounge is the perfect spot to raise a toast to the Queen’s 70-year reign. Designed by Bar Manager Diogo Felico, the fit-for-a-royal cocktail selection (£13 each) will include the Jewelled Crown, made with golden-coloured Belle Brillet Pear Cognac, champagne, lemon juice and crowned with a golden sugar syrup rim; and the light and floral Elizabeth Rose cocktail, combining Devonshire’s refreshing Salcome Gin Rosé, petal-infused syrup, lemon juice and soda water. For something a little different, opt for the bold and decadent 1952, featuring sweet and malty Monkey Shoulder scotch whiskey, Drambuie scotch whiskey, Benedictine Dom Liqueur and Angostura.
The launch of the Platinum Lounge and Jubilee cocktail menu coincides with the Great Northern Hotel’s new partnership with Hampshire winery, Hattingley Valley, whose award-winning sparkling wine will be sold by the glass and bottle in the Platinum Lounge exclusively.
Available from the 2nd – 4th June and bookable for two-nights only, Great Northern Hotel will also be offering a regal room package. Priced from £370 per night, enjoy a relaxing stay for two people in one of the luxurious King Rooms that echo the glamour of the railway era. You’ll also be treated to one delicious cocktail per person, plus daily breakfast at the award-winning Plum + Spilt Milk, setting you up perfectly for a busy day of making the most that the capital has to offer.
