20 years ago, Vivek Singh opened The Cinnamon Club, a landmark restaurant that would go on to revolutionise, shape and inspire modern Indian fine dining in the UK. To mark two decades since the Westminster restaurant first opened its doors on 17th March 2001, The Cinnamon Club will launch its most special and spectacular at home experience to date – the indulgent 20th Anniversary At Home menu.
While government restrictions mean a celebration at the restaurant is impossible, Vivek is determined to bring the festivities to your doorstep. Recognised as a pioneer in Indian fine dining and with a global reputation, Vivek Singh’s revolutionary style, which fuses the spice of the subcontinent with the finest British ingredients and culinary traditions, has become renowned for cutting-edge and contemporary food that remains classic and timeless – an ethos Vivek has seamlessly carried over to his at home dining menus.
The six-course anniversary menu is a veritable feast inspired by the most delicious dishes from the past two decades. The feast begins with a line-up Vivek’s award-winning canapés including Bengali beetroot cake with Kasundi ketchup, and cured salmon carpaccio jhal muri. Follow with starters of Sandalwood tandoori chicken breast and coriander chutney; and tandoor spiced grilled prawns with curried yoghurt. The main event is a tamarind glazed duck break, Hyderbadi salan with pumpkin chutney and peanut crumble, a gilded whole lamb leg ‘Raan’ with nutmeg & pepper corn sauce; served with unctuous 24-hour cooked black lentils, bejewelled biryani rice, and aromatic saffron sheermal bread.
Dessert is The Cinnamon Club’s signature mango shrikhand – a silky smooth yoghurt topped with Rasmalai sauce, gulab jamun and pistachio. And, for a final flourish, extra special turmeric chai 60% Single Origin Colombian dark chocolate truffles with green cardamom, ginger and rose petals blended into a delicate white chocolate ganache have been exclusively created for the Anniversary At Home menu by cutting edge chocolatier, Paul A Young.
To further reinvent the restaurant experience at home, extras such as fine wines, champagnes, and Vivek’s signed cookbooks can also be included with all kits.
The Cinnamon Club’s 20th Anniversary meal kit is priced at £160 and serves two generously. All meal kits come chilled in temperature-controlled boxes and are available for nationwide delivery. Orders for over 20 guests can be arranged for delivery any day of the week, orders of smaller parties will be sent out each Thursday to arrive by midday on Friday.
