On Friday, 10th March, Carluccio’s will unveil a ‘new generation’ restaurant in Solihull, bringing its inimitable blend of modern Italian all-day dining, deli and foodshop to the town centre within the Mell Square Shopping Centre.
Warm and welcoming, Carluccio’s Solihull showcases very best of Antonio Carluccio’s homeland and is open for delicious breakfasts, lunches and dinners and everything in between. Savouring the little things takes on new meaning; the senses are awakened by the true flavours and fresh aromas of Italy via the open plan kitchen, deli counter and chef’s communal table, from where diners can watch the team in action. An alfresco street-level terrace pays homage to Italy’s love of taking coffee on the piazza and will draw diners outside to watch the world go by over an espresso or two.
The full menu will highlight dishes ‘from the deli’ and ‘from the kitchen’, including ‘Antonio Carluccio Signature Dishes’ – those that come from Antonio’s heart and celebrate the simple joys of real Italian dining. Must tries include slow cooked duck pappardelle with pork, pancetta and mushrooms; crab macaroni in a creamy cheese sauce; the chicken Milanese and a rich mushroom risotto with a hint of chilli and truffle oil.
One of the few Carluccio’s serving pizza, each is hand-stretched using slow-proven dough to create a thin and crispy base and is topped with the best Italian ingredients including the finest buffalo mozzarella, 18-month aged Parma ham and nduja – a spicy pork salumi.
The regularly changing Set Menu (12-6pm) offers exceptional value, only £10.99 for two courses or three for £13.99 and, as one would expect, the drinks list reflects the restaurant’s Italian roots with a range of craft beers, wines and expertly blended cocktails.
The deli features an ever-changing selection of dishes to go – find piled high ciabatta sandwiches, freshly made pasta and vibrant salads as well as indulgent tarts and cakes – perfect for lunch al desko. The shop is a food lover’s paradise with a range of products that taste as good as they look and make perfect gifts – pesto, pasta, porcini, prosecco and preserves sit alongside olive oils, balsamic vinegars, biscuits and chocolate, all made in Italy using time-honoured recipes.
Pop in whenever you want, for whatever you want and stay as long as you like – that’s the Carluccio’s way.
