Carnivorous cravings will be satisfied with an ever-changing selection of quality hand-cut steaks. Whether its rump, ribeye or an indulgent ‘Butcher’s Block’ seasonal special, there is an impressive range of expertly prepared cuts to choose from. Spoilt for choice? Try the ‘Steak Sampler’ – a selection of 4oz fillet, 4oz sirloin and 4oz rump, served with beer-battered onion rings and peppercorn sauce.
But it’s not just steaks that take the limelight. Guests can explore a host of indulgent dishes from the brand-new Autumn/Winter menu, including handmade burgers, grazing plates, salads and fish and vegetarian dishes. New additions include ‘Wild Caught Canadian Scallops’ baked in garlic butter and served with crispy oak-smoked bacon and truffle mash, as well as the‘Grilled Salmon Fillet’ with a velvety hollandaise sauce, served on a bed of Tenderstem® broccoli, green beans and boiled potatoes. Satisfy your sweet tooth with Bar + Block’s ‘Melting Chocolate Dome’ – pour hot chocolate toffee sauce over this showstopper to reveal triple-chocolate brownie pieces with vanilla ice cream and dulce de leche sauce.
Vegetarians and vegans are not left behind and can indulge in delicious, meat-free options, including the ‘Grilled Veg and Burrata Burger’ with French fries and a vegan ‘Chilli Non-Carne’served with tortilla chips, smashed avocado and tomato salsa.
Kick off the weekend in style with a bottomless brunch, served every Saturday and Sunday from 9am – 4pm when you can enjoy bottomless prosecco, hot drinks or juice for just £15, when you purchase any dish. There’s a dish to please every palate, from ‘Avocado and Toast’ to ‘Granola with Fruit Salad’, or the indulgent ‘Bar + Block Works’ breakfast – featuring dry-cured oak-smoked streaky bacon, pork sausage, spicy beans, beef hash, mixed mushrooms and roasted tomato, served with a fried egg and toast.

Grabbing a quick bite to eat? For less than £10, enjoy a dish and a drink from Bar + Block’s ‘Express Menu’. Available Monday to Friday from 11.30am to 5.00pm, this menu ensures hungry stomachs are satisfied in just 10 minutes. Whether it’s a working lunch or a catch-up with friends, choose from a selection of tempting dishes, including ‘Chicken Escalope Sandwich’ with fries and the ‘Asian Mushroom Burger’ – crispy aromatic oyster mushrooms topped with a crunchy Asian style slaw and hoisin sauce, served in a brioche style bun.
Bubbles + Brews
When it comes to drinks, Bar + Block’s bartenders will be on hand to serve up a selection of craft beers and ciders, alongside a carefully curated wine list and creative signature cocktails. To round-off the working day, head to the bar on Monday to Thursday from 5-7pm for half-price cocktails. Modern design details create a contemporary and stylish space. A listed building, Bar + Block Newcastle has been sympathetically renovated. The contemporary interior design features an expansive bar with copper detailing, butcher’s table and an open kitchen, complemented by rustic reclaimed wood, high quality fabrics, comfy booth seating and warm lighting. Decorative finishing touches include the brand’s signature neon cow, alongside a number of contemporary artwork pieces.
