A local Surrey favourite, The Albion in Kingston Upon Thames is ready for the Summer season, with the opening of its revamped garden featuring a unique Gin Distillery, state-of-the-art barbecue and hog roast.
Proving just the tonic to those balmy summer evenings, the new Distillery will invite guests to pull up a stool and enjoy a whole host of gins, including the house Big Smoke made in the pub’s 100 litre steel and copper still. There will also be 90-minute immersive experiences available to book, hosted by The Albion’s Master Distiller. G&T in hand, the class starts with an insight into the history of the spirit, followed by a tasting, before creating (and drinking) your very own blend using the pub’s impressive collection of botanicals.
The masterclasses cost £60 per person and include unlimited gin tastings throughout alongside stone-baked pizza, plus a 100ml bottle of Big Smoke gin and your own unique blend to take home. To book your place, email: firstname.lastname@example.org
Alternatively, take-over the Distillery for private birthday celebrations and group get-togethers for up to 20, or for larger summer soirées, the garden can be hired exclusively for up to 80 guests.
Whilst gin is high on the agenda this summer, The Albion is also a haven for beer lovers with ten real ales, five ciders and 20 keg beers behind the barfrom small batch independent producers and the pub’s very own Big Smoke Brew Co. brewery.
Those looking to dine can enjoy The Albion’s varied menu featuring a selection of stone-baked pizzas and meaty mains, including an extensive menu of burgers and ‘big plate’ specials, such as racks of BBQ ribs, marinated chicken and pies all served with chips and crunchy coleslaw. There’s plenty on the menu for vegans and vegetarians too; from halloumi burgers and plant-based pizzas, to feta and quinoa salads.
Carnivores should diarise Tuesdays and Thursdays with the former offering a rib-eye steak and sides, with a pint of Big Smoke or glass of wine for just £13, while Thursdays offer a burger of the day with chips and slaw plus wine or beer for £13. Come Sunday, The Albion’s Sunday roasts round off the week perfectly and should not be missed.
Add to this, regular barbecues and hog roasts over the summer and The Albion is destined to be your ultimate summer hotspot.
