Finding something different and exciting on Mother’s Day can be difficult, so this year, surprise your mum with a modern, Indian-inspired take on the classic afternoon tea at Cinnamon Bazaar. After a busy morning of shopping or for the perfect pre-theatre indulgence, escape from the hustle and bustle of Covent Garden to enjoy the delicious teatime spread created by Executive Chef and founder Vivek Singh and Great British Bake Off star, Tamal Ray.
For just £25pp, afternoon tea is reimagined with savoury bites such as Kolkata fish finger sandwich with tomato chutney; Chicken Kathi‘spring rolls’; and Vivek’s signature Papdi chaat, crisp wheat chaat with yoghurt, tamarind and coriander chutney. Sweet treats includecinnamon cream macarons; pistachio cake with rose meringue and Mishti Doi – a steamed Bengali yoghurt with mango curd. A selection of Indian spiced teas make the perfect finishing touch, and for just £4.50 extra, add a glass of prosecco to toast the occasion.
If your mum’s already sweet enough, restaurants across The Cinnamon Collection are offering special Mother’s Day menus for a truly memorable day. Head to Cinnamon Kitchen in the City or Battersea Power Station and share the love with a six-dish sharing feast and seasonal cocktail for £35 per person. Dishes on the menu include banana leaf wrapped sea bass and king prawns in Bengal turmeric curry. Push the boat out at The Cinnamon Club with four deliciously spiced courses and a cocktail on arrival for £45 per person. Dine on smoked Herdwick lamb fillet and galouti kebab mille feuille; baked plaice fillet with green mango and coriander sauce; and lemon and ginger brulee with pink peppercorn crisp.
Show your appreciation to your mum with sugar and spice at The Cinnamon Collection.
