One of London’s newest independent craft beer brands, Long Arm Brewing Co., is adding some luck of the Irish to its best-selling Birdie Flipper red ale this Paddy’s Day (17th March) – serving up D.E.W. & a Brew in collaboration with Tullamore D.E.W. Irish Whiskey.
Reviving the Irish custom of sipping a beer and whiskey side-by-side, D.E.W. & a Brew partners every bottle of malty Birdie Flipper with a 25ml serving of Tullamore D.E.W. for just £6.
Whiskey and beer have been made together in Ireland since monks distilled their ‘table beer’ to make whiskey. Also, the Daly family, who first employed Daniel E. Williams at Tullamore, brewed local beers alongside their whiskey. Over time, it was discovered that these ‘malt cousins’ were not only convenient to make together but when sipped simultaneously also formed a fine partnership on the palate.
The complexity and sweetness of triple-distilled and triple blend Tullamore D.E.W. perfectly complements Birdie Flipper’s deep bittersweet flavours of roasted coffee, toffee and long hoppy, toasty finish.
D.E.W. and a Brew will be available throughout March at venues across London including: Burdock in the Montcalm Royal London House hotel; Greenwood at Nova Food Victoria; The Botanist Broadgate Circle; and Ealing Park Tavern in South Ealing.
Embrace the Irish spirit and raise a glass…and a bottle…to St. Patrick this March.
